Under the banner of Dark City Events, my friends Jonathan, James and Julia have done a huge amount of work over the years promoting the newer breed of electronic and industrial bands and creating an audience for them here in Edinburgh.

From the same team that bring you Dark City, Ascension is one of Edinburgh's longest running alternative (music that is!) club nights.

Currently running monthly at Studio 24, it's a great night out if you like a bit of industrial or harder edge electronic dance/synthpop.

Phil is one of my oldest friends, a gifted writer and photographer who now roams the country in a campervan undertaking a brace of weird and wonderful projects as inspiration for future literary works. We had a lot of fun putting this site together which although on one hand is meant to promote his books as and when they are published, on the other is crammed full of utter silliness.
