STEVE ADAM
Motion graphics, video production and electronic music from the eighties
Steve Adam in the studio

I'm an electronic musician and freelance motion graphics designer / videographer originally from London, now based in Edinburgh.

You can read more about my motion graphics and video work at www.motioncraft.co.uk.

I am also a founding member and lead programmer of eighties covers band Party Fears Three.

The band takes up most of my musical attention right now so although I used to gig as a solo act, this is more or less on hold for the foreseeable future. It's much more fun being in a band and it means I don't have to sing now, which was never my strong point!

Our live set is made up of cover versions mostly from the early to mid eighties era but unlike your typical tribute act, we make an effort to choose an varied selection of songs and put together interesting and unique interpretations, often with a modern spin, that we hope other fans of the genre will appreciate and enjoy.

An important factor in this is using vintage analogue synthesisers and whilst my collection is nowhere near as esoteric as I would like, I've nevertheless collected a few gems along the way to help me recreate the 'retro' sound. You can check out what I'm currently using over on the studio page.

And while you're here, why not have a go at my 80s spot the intro quiz? A popular feature over the last few years, very few people have got them all right - can you?
